Mr. Andrew (Andy) L. Benson

Mr. Andrew L. Benson became NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Yokosukaís fourth executive director in September 2014 and is responsible for providing professional and technical advice to the commanding officer on operational matters and the development of policies affecting the command's mission.

Mr. Benson is a native of Philadelphia, PA. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (BA), and Cambridge University, England (MA), he earned his Navy commission through Officer Candidate School. Following completion of Naval Surface Warfare School, he served as Auxiliaries Officer and as Combat Information Officer aboard the amphibious ship USS EL PASO (LKA 117). From 1985-1987, he was assigned as an instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy. In 1987, he transferred to the Navy Supply Corps, subsequently serving on four ships: USS BRADLEY (FF-1041), in San Diego, and USS FIFE (DD 991), in Yokosuka, Japan. From 1994-1996, he served as Assistant Supply Officer aboard USS PELELIU (LHA-5), San Diego, and from 1998-2000, as Supply Officer of USS BRIDGE (AOE-10), based in Bremerton, Washington. Ashore, he served at Navy Supply Center, Jacksonville, Fla. from 1990-1991, following which, he served as Speechwriter to the Chief of Naval Operations. From 1996-1998, he served as Director, Configuration, Allowance and Platform Management Division, Naval Inventory Control Point, Mechanicsburg, Pa., followed by two years as branch chief in the Fleet Logistics Operations Directorate, Naval Supply Systems Command.

Following his selection to Captain in 2001, he was assigned as Executive Assistant to the Commander, Naval Supply Systems Command, and subsequently, in 2002, to the Joint Staff, where he served as Chief, Sustainment and International Logistics Branch, and as Chief, Capabilities and Strategy Division. In June 2005, he took command of U. S. Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Yokosuka, Japan. Following three years in command, he was assigned as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics (Code N41), Commander Naval Surface Forces, Coronado, CA. He retired from the Navy on 1 November 2011.

Entering the private sector, he led and established in 2012, Supreme Global Services, Asia LLP - a branch office of the Supreme Group in Singapore, a total global logistics provider.

Andrew Bensonís military awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal, and various campaign and unit awards. He is a qualified Surface Warfare Officer, Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer, and Naval Aviation Supply Officer. He is a graduate of Stanford Graduate School of Businessís Executive Program in Strategy and Organization, and the Advanced Management Program at Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill.

In September, 2014 he reported as Executive Director of NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, Yokosuka, Japan.
