We are based in NAS Sigonella, Sicily, Italy, with additional employees located at regional support sites in Naples, Italy., Rota, Spain, and Souda Bay, Greece.
As Commanding Officer of NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Sigonella (NAVSUP FLCSI), I am committed to supporting the Chief of Naval Operation's diversity strategy to institutionalize a culture that fully leverages and values a diverse workforce. I will support and enforce all applicable Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, executive orders and management directives to ensure that all individuals are afforded an equal opportunity for success. Employees are protected by laws designed to protect them from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sex stereotyping, gender identity, transgender status, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), parental status, marital status, political affiliation, military service, or any other non-merit based factor. These protections extend to all management practices and decisions, including recruitment and hiring practices, appraisal systems, promotions, and training and career development programs.
It is my responsibility to provide the diverse workforce an environment which is free from harassment and in which employees are respected as individuals, supported and rewarded on the basis of ability, effort, and individual merit.
To effectively and efficiently deliver combat capabilities through logistics, NAVSUP FLCSI must be able to draw upon the strength inherent in an increasingly diverse workforce. Diversity is the creativity, culture, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, skills, and talents of Sailors and civilians that enhance the mission readiness of the Navy. Diversity is not only a reality of our global nature; it is a distinct advantage - one that we should value and embrace.
NAVSUP FLCSI can position itself to take full advantage of the global nature of our organization to attract and retain the most talented workers. Only with a talented, creative workforce will NAVSUP FLCSI be able to continue to accomplish our essential mission. We must all play a role in creating an environment that is free of all forms of discrimination and barriers where we empower every individual to contribute to the organization. I challenge every member of our FLCSI team to take responsibility for implementing the Navy's EEO policy and cooperating fully in its enforcement.

PEOPLE FIRST – SAFETY ALWAYS! Always KNOW the RISKS associated with your decisions. COMMUNICATE GOOD and BAD EARLY and OFTEN. Brutal honesty (facts and data). Be “BRILLIANT at the BASICS”, KNOW your PROCESSES and be DETAIL ORIENTED. Be CONCISE in your communications. Time is valuable and you can’t always get more. PLAN your work and WORK your plan. WE OWN “NO” and references are required when we can't support. How do we get to yes? INTEGRITY over LOYALTY. ETHICS and ACCOUNTABILITY can't be delegated. NEVER IGNORE a PROBLEM. Be PASSIONATE and have COMPASSION: love what you do and take care of those around you. BEHAVE and OPERATE one rank senior to your own. MAINTAIN PERSPECTIVE: view things in their true relations or relative importance.
